    “AY Young is a producer, singer, songwriter, entertainer, and entrepreneur. He first began writing poetry at 14, a reaction to the great disparity in Kansas City known as “the Troost divide” While touring the USA, AY learned that over 1 billion people lack access to electricity. So AY began powering concerts using renewable energy, raising awareness about sustainability, and fundraising to bring people electricity. Thus, the Battery Tour was born and has plugged in 17 countries to date.

    AY Musik’s Battery Tour is a fresh, imaginative approach uniting musical experience, community development, sustainability education, humanitarian aid, and international cooperation. These innovatively interactive engagements revolutionize musical performance by introducing audience-artist collaborative solutions to address the global energy poverty issue, minimizing carbon footprints by powering events with renewable energy.

    AY was recently named a UN Youth Leader for SDGs and performed at President Biden inauguration. AY is currently working on a Global Goals album, labeled “”Project 17″” in collaboration with a variety of well known artists to create one song for each of the 17 SDGs.

    AY landed on The X Factor TV show in 2012 and received four YES’. Inspired, AY hit the streets performing his original music, garnering a grassroots following, and opening for artists Wiz Khalifa, SHAGGY, T-Pain, Flo-rida, Aaron Carter and others.

    Benjamin Makai is the current Senior Manager- Technology for Development (T4D) at Safaricom Ltd
    where he leads a team of innovators responsible for leveraging on technology to create, develop,
    adopt and integrate new concepts, products and practices for public good. These innovations
    address social, cultural, economic and environmental needs. Formerly, he lead the social innovation
    unit at, which works with like-minded organizations to form partnerships aimed at identifying issues
    and finding solutions in areas such as health, agriculture, education, and disaster management. He is
    responsible for building and maintaining winning partnerships with ecosystem industry stakeholders.
    Mr. Makai has a B.Sc. in computer science from Egerton University, various developing leadership
    capabilities training from Strathmore Business School, and was recently awarded a certificate of
    completion for the Rethinking Financial Inclusion Program from Harvard Business School.

She is an experienced facilitator, coaching groups and individuals throughout transformation journeys, and innovation processes. Florencia has more than 10 years of experience inside large corporations as ABN Amro Bank and McKinsey as well as a social entrepreneur having founded Cria Global (impact based innovation consultancy) and Pipa (accelerator for impact-driven start-ups in Brazil) and having worked closely as a mentor of various Ashoka Fellows. She holds an MBA from UC Berkeley, a BA in International Business and is a certified facilitator in Theory U. Florencia is today based in Punta del Este, Uruguay, mother of two girls Maia and Sofia.

    Physician Scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School Center for Surgery and Public Health

    Gezzer Ortega, MD, MPH, a Brooklyn native, born to immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic, is the Lead Faculty for Research and Innovation for Equitable Surgical Care at the Center for Surgery and Public Health, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ortega is a health services researcher with a focus on developing and implementing solutions to address surgical inequities. Dr. Ortega is a Co-Founder of the Latino Surgical Society, which aims to cultivate, nurture, and support the advancement of Latino surgeons. Also, Geezer is a League of Intrapreneur Fellow.

She is a recipient of the Grant Thornton 100
    Faces of a Vibrant Economy Award and regularly speaks and writes on the topic of sustainable innovation and intrapreneurship. She is co-author of The Intrapreneurs Guide to Pathfinding and The Social Intrapreneur: A Field Guide for Corporate Changemakers.

    Mercedes Gutierrez Alvarez is Head of Social Impact Communities at Ingka Group, a strategic partner in the IKEA franchise system, operating 380 IKEA stores across 32 countries.

    Born in Spain, Mercedes is now based in Malmö (Sweden) where she leads a broad social impact agenda which includes providing skills for employment for refugees, integration of social entrepreneurs into the value chain, and supporting the right to an adequate homes in local neighbourhoods in 32 countries as part of the People and Planet Positive Strategy for the world’s largest home furnishing retailer.

    Former head of sustainability at IKEA Spain, Mercedes has fifteen years’ experience working with sustainability and social innovation as drivers to transform business models, mainly for the energy and retail sectors. She is a passionate believer and activist, inspiring everyone to act as positive change-makers to tackle inequality and climate change. She holds a degree in chemistry and a master’s in ESG accountability, human rights, social audit, and civil society development.

    Stefan has an experienced background on sustainble business development and management across industries (finance, energy, healthcare, agriculture, chemicals). In multinational companies he has been working at the interfaces to investor relations and corporate strategy embedding a modern sustainability as perspective into core processes. Additionally, as intrapreneur, Stefan has gained various experiences in the field of inclusive business development in emerging and developing countries and has initiated and managed strategic programs to tackle various development challenges in collaboration with entrepreneurs, impact investors, non- and governmental organizations. He is global fellow of the league of intrapreneurs and the BMW responsible leadership network. Stefan is founder of the TBW network of sustainability experts and supporter of the Inclusive Business Action Network. He has studied psychology of economics and international management at University of Cologne (Germany) and Lunds University (Sweden) and has furthermore lived in Kerala (India) and Bordeaux (France). He is married and proud father of two children, loves art and unconvention.
